Curious about my Academic Research?

Here is a brief overview:

Talk at the University of Birmingham in May 2026:

My research bridges the neurodiversity paradigm and the medical model. To do so, I offer a novel account of mental disorder — pragmatic, yet grounded in nature — which argues that conditions like ADHD and autism aren't inherently disorders, but become so when they cause harm, without relying on the contested notion of "dysfunction." This lets me celebrate neurodivergent strengths, recognise how much of the disablement neurodivergent people face is socially produced, and advocate for the societal changes needed to address it — while still justifying treatment and support when needed.
